Idea
Our concept includes that we want to show our guests a different, non-conventional touristic East Africa. For most people, an unknown condition and natural ambience: a great, exotic, variable world is offered, details hidden from the western eye, a real piece of East Africa and its inhabitants of the Swahili nation.
Progress Diary 2022/2023
During the Pilot period 2023, we ran documentations, which of course can be admired on Youtube.
You are cordially invited to admire these recordings and be inspired by our participants, in their personal experiences and integrative experiences with the inhabitants of Zanzibar, living among its traditions and natural environment.
The documentation consists of 2 parts
1. Preparations Campsite, its infrastructure and workshops.
2. The Pilot period itself, with visiting workshops, life in the campsite, manifestos and excursions on Zanzibar.

Pilot Test Camp 2023 Retrospective
In order to gain experience, we developed the idea of organizing a pilot test camp. We spend a trial week on Zanzibar with the Garden of Komba team in 2023. It was fully booked.
The costs were manageable, as we did not want to take a profit in material form, but rather the experience of the guests. The organization of the camp site, the workshops, manifestos and excursions, but also transport, food and accommodation were taken into account.
Location
The Garden of Komba is located on the beautiful western side of the island of Zanzibar, close to the village of Muyuni and Pete Inlet Bay, that watches over Uzi Island.
The Muyuni Garden: Our guests live and relax in a wonderful garden world – the guests live in the shade of lime, orange, banana and tamarind trees – Palm trees, mango, papaya and baobab trees determine the ambience. Exotic plants of all kinds and 20,000 year old coral rocks make this garden a „Spirit of Eden“.
Program 2025/2026
Activities, presentations and manifestos will not only take place at different locations on Zanzibar, but also in the immediate vicinity of the Muyuni Campsite, where guests will stay during their stay.
We offer: workshops, excursions, manifestos, cultural integration, or just follow the stars and your own program.
